Sterling Silver Pure or fine silver is too soft for jewellery purposes and is alloyed (combined) with other metals most commonly copper, to produce a more durable product. Our silver is alloyed in-house to ensure its quality; it is Sterling Silver and is the highest purity available. Silver is a natural metal which oxidises when in contact with oxygen, damp and sun light increase the rate of oxidisation. We plate most of our sterling silver with pure silver to decrease the rate of oxidisation. A plated metal is much more stable and oxidises slower. We are one of the few companies who carry out this extra process, which adds value to our jewellery and increase the duration of beauty before you need to polish your silver jewellery. Sterling silver is 925 part silver or more out of 1000 pure (92.5%) and easily recognised by the .925 stamp.
